Reality Check

It’s not about getting gold. It’s about turning what you have into gold.

Some people find their lives unattractive.
Others only see flaws and weakness when they reflect on themselves.
There are those whose days are filled with complaints and sighs.
Some people take a long time to decide; afraid of ending up realizing they’d taken the wrong path.
(milih prodi, misalnya? Hahaha… :P)

We all have our own expectations and standards in life. Nggak ada orang yang ingin hidupnya biasa-biasa aja. Everyone has an image of the kind of life they’d like to live, the kind of person they’d like to be… We make plans, think thoroughly before making a decision… in order to move one step closer to our wildest dreams.
In reality, nggak semua yang kita impikan bisa tercapai. Nggak semua rencana yang kita buat bisa berjalan dengan mulus. Keadaan di sekitar kita (whether it be the people around us, or the circumstances we face) ngga selalu menguntungkan kita, nggak selalu sesuai dengan keinginan kita. Nothing in this world is perfect.
Kadang kita jadi terus-menerus melihat ke belakang; nggak berhenti berandai-andai: "Kalau aja waktu itu gue gini…", "Seandainya gue nggak begitu…"
Kadang kita jadi putus semangat. Ada juga orang yang akhirnya terus mengeluh, menyalahkan keadaan. And then there are those who become "paranoid" atau "traumatic" - you name it -: ketika harus membuat keputusan, mereka jadi nggak percaya diri tingkat parah, takut menyesal di kemudian hari.

Lately, gue dihadapkan pada situasi yang nggak menyenangkan, orang-orang yang *he-eh*, dan pilihan-pilihan yang sulit. Hehehekh.
Sempat bikin nggak semangat and bete.. But I’ve learned my lesson.
Seperti yang gue utarakan (duh, bahasanya bo’…) di atas:
Life’s not about getting gold. It’s about turning what you have into gold.
Mungkin loe nggak selalu mendapat hal-hal yang (menurut loe) baik, menyenangkan, memudahkan. But it doesn’t mean your life’s gonna suck ’til the end of time. (*hohoho.. mulai ngga jelas bahasanya. maafkan…*) It’s your decision to see things from another perspective and make advantage of what you have.
Aaaahh.. ribet nyari kata-kata yang oke. Yang jelas, gue yakin deh, inti dari semua yang di atas udah bisa ditangkep. Aight?
